Production Assistant – Reporting to:  General Manager, UK

We are a long established Electronic Engineering Manufacturer based in Witham, Essex.  A high end synchronisation company, manufacturing ultra-precise time and frequency products and solutions for advanced communication and timing systems.  We deliver high precision performance and reliability deployed in the harshest of conditions.

Our team is expanding! As a result of this we have the need for some extra help in our Stores and Goods In/Out department in the form of a Production Assistant.  This is an integral and important role which will assist in the seamless day to day running for our facility.  We envisage this starting as a part time position, which could be worked around school hours, but to cover until 3.00pm in the afternoon for despatch of orders to be covered.  Options can be discussed.

DUTIES (to include, but may not be limited to)

  • Pre-receiving and informal inspection of Goods In by opening packages and checking part numbers and quantities against the relevant Purchase Order and Delivery Note.
  • Pre-receiving and QC inspection of metalwork orders for damages, scratches, paint finish and dimensions.
  • Pre-receiving of RMA products for repair.
  • Daily stock Cycle Counts by counting stock from a pre-printed given report.
  • Kitting of Work Orders from a pre-printed report.
  • Preparing metalwork with protective film ready for assembly.
  • Packing of Production and RMA orders ready for shipment.
  • Keep Goods In/Out area neat and tidy at all times.

Experience required:

  • Numerate and attention to detail.
  • Experience of Goods In/Out desirable.
  • ESD handling awareness with sensitive electronic devices desirable.
  • Be flexible in your approach and work with other team members to continuously improve quality and processes.
  • Must also be able to communicate and co-ordinate with others and work as part of a team between departments.
  • Work in accordance with AS9100 and the Company’s Quality System.
  • Pro-active, hardworking, enthusiastic and capable of working on their own initiative, with a good sense of humour.

  • Salary is competitive for location and dependant on experience and hours worked.
  • Flexible hours/working.
  • 20 day’s annual holiday, plus Public and holidays, rising one day per full year of service worked, to a maximum of 25 days. (Pro-rata for part time positions within the Company)
